SUMMARY
The CFO is a member of the leadership team and will serve as a trusted resource to the CEO and executive team. This position is for a hands-on financial executive with experience combining sound financial leadership with proven business effectiveness. The CFO is responsible for the financial health and management of the organization, including but not limited to, financial modeling and reporting, cost-benefit analysis, budget management, forecasting, capital planning, accounting and treasury operations, mergers & acquisitions, and investment strategies. The CFO will conduct an analysis and provide the financial perspective necessary for corporate decisions and strategic planning.
The successful candidate will have a demonstrated record of accomplishment in positions of increasing financial responsibility and will be exceptional at developing, managing, and leading a high-performing accounting organization. She/he will be a seasoned financial leader with a reputation for technical accounting acumen, strategic thinking, business judgment, quantitative analysis ability, leadership, and interpersonal skills.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Drive financial acumen and accountability across the organization; provide timely and meaningful analyses and reporting to operational leaders.
- Responsible for oversight of financial internal controls and coordination of all financial audits.
- Develop and monitor policies and procedures within generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and corporate guidelines to ensure sufficient cash flow, reduce operating costs, and increase revenues. Maintain general ledger structure, chart of accounts, policies and procedures to enable financial statement preparation and compliance with all required financial audits.
- Collaborate with CEO and other VPs on developing the operating budget. Oversee long-term budgetary planning and cost management in alignment with the strategic plan.
- Lead integrated financial planning process which includes inputs from all departments.
- Provide timely and accurate analysis of budgets, financial reports, and financial forecasting.
- Work with senior leaders on the strategic vision of the organization including cultivating and fostering a customer-centric culture, and engage in the growth agenda including organic and acquisition strategies.
- Partner with the CEO/Senior Leaders on operational and strategic issues as they arise; provide strategic recommendations based on financial analysis and projections, and revenue/expense analysis.
- Oversees all financial transactions, including finance and reporting.
- Prepare materials and present, as necessary, financial information to the Executive team or other partners. Prepare and communicate financial statements.
- Provide financial discipline and business decision support to evaluate strategic business opportunities.
- Partners and collaborates with Human Resources on benefit strategies including, but not limited to, health plan and 401K plan thus providing the most competitive packages for the employees.
- Advise on contract negotiations from a financial impact perspective.
- Work with outside counsel on legal matters, when necessary. Final sign-off of all material contracts.
- Responsible for administrative and record keeping and overall asset management of the organization
- Review all formal finance and IT-related procedures, processes, and administration, recommending improvements to the systems in place and systems going forward.
- Conduct due diligence and recommendations on the timing and implementation of significant development or technology investments.
- Maintain external relationships with banks, auditors, and third-party vendors.
- Establish efficient workflows and business processes to meet the need for financial information of multiple internal and external stakeholders.
- Partners and collaborates with Operations, Marketing, Supply Chain, Human Resources, Payroll, and Training Departments.
- Oversee an accounting team of 2 in addition to an outsourced accounting vendor, with the potential to grow the team and overall responsibility
- Other responsibilities and projects as assigned
REQUIRED COMPETENCIES:
- Mature, seasoned, and proactive leader with demonstrated excellence in managing finance, accounting, budgeting, controls, analysis and reporting with values of integrity and transparency.
- 10+ years of progressive financial experience
- Restaurant industry experience is required; Retail industry and franchising experience a plus.
- Skilled in examining, developing, re-engineering, and recommending financial and technology policies and procedures.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Hands-on and proactive management style; open-minded perspective capable of operating in a start-up-like environment.
- Able to execute complex financial models and forecasts.
- Able to build alignment for initiatives and programs.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written in order to interact knowledgeably with and impact both internal and external parties.

- Experience preferred with Aloha Pulse, Crunch Time, and other restaurant industry software.

REQUIRED EDUCATION:
- An undergraduate degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business, or Statistics is preferred
- CPA is highly preferred
- An MBA or other graduate degree is desirable
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
- Travel is primarily local during the business day, but may be required to various locations for training, meetings and other job-related functions. The role is based on-site.
