Position Responsibilities:
Reporting to the CEO for a truckload carrier in business for more than 20-years, that specializes in temperature controlled, dedicated services, expedited, intermodal, logistics, regionally and over-the-road in the Midwest, Northeast, Southeast and West Coast. With $ 180 million dollars in revenue the company has 400 trucks, 630 trailers & 448 employees.

The Chief Financial Officer will be a member of the senior executive team responsible for the overall strategic direction & business plan. Directs all financial activities including preparation of financial reports, budgets, & forecasts for a $ 180 million dollar P&L. Leads team from the finance & administration group including accounting, billing, credit & collections, document management, payroll, planning & analysis, & information technology. Creates & examines accuracy of financial statements in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) & distribute financial statements. Develops plans for growth to increase company profit while also reducing expenditure. Identifies investment opportunities and manage mergers and acquisitions. Implements and maintains effective accounting systems and controls for monitoring accounting functions. Develops key factor or metric reporting. Manages vendor relationships. Oversees the company’s finance IT system. Ensure compliance and company’s policies. Contributes to a culture that puts safety first, taking care of people second & profitability third. Challenge is to coordinate the financial direction of the company to reduce costs & improve revenues & profitability.

Background Required:
  • Financial Leadership – Transportation-Trucking Environment (5 yrs.)
  • Tax planning, budgeting & forecasting
  • Cost reduction & containment programs
  • Operational accounting & interaction with operations management
  • P&L & balance sheet ($100 million revenue)
  • Education: Bachelors (i.e., Accounting or Finance)
  • Residence: Gainesville, GA (relocation assistance provided)
Background Preferred (but not required):
  • Administered ESOP program
  • Transportation software (i.e. TMW innovative)
  • Certification: CMA or CPA
  • Graduate Education: MBA or Masters (Finance or Accounting)
