Are you a skilled CAD professional with a passion for precision and a background in commercial (NOT RESIDENTIAL OR KITCHEN DESIGN) millwork?
Join a team known for delivering exceptional custom interiors of shared spaces in condos, spas, restaurants and hotels. Here, you’ll transform architectural and design concepts into production-ready shop drawings that bring high-end commercial spaces to life.
This is not a furniture or interior design role. We are seeking an experienced millwork detailer who understands how commercial and retail projects move from drawing board to shop floor—and thrives in that process.
What You’ll Do
As a key member of our drafting team, you will:
-
Produce detailed, production-ready shop drawings for custom millwork, cabinetry, and architectural woodwork using AutoCAD.
-
Interpret architectural renderings and specifications to create accurate, buildable drawings.
-
Develop breakout drawings and detailed documentation for materials including wood, metal, acrylic, and glass.
-
Collaborate closely with project managers and production teams to ensure designs meet specifications, budgets, and timelines.
-
Review and refine drawings to minimize production issues and maintain quality standards.
-
Maintain organized project documentation, including drawings, parts lists, and cost-related information.
-
Support the shop floor by resolving manufacturing questions related to specifications, bills of materials, and routing.
-
Manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
What You Bring
-
Minimum 5 years of AutoCAD drafting experience in common spaces.
-
At least 3 years of hands-on experience in commercial wood millwork.
-
Strong understanding of millwork construction methods, woodworking techniques, wood finishing, veneers, laminates, and related materials.
-
Ability to create detailed working plans, scale drawings, and presentation drawings.
-
Solid problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to evolving project requirements.
-
Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to craftsmanship.
-
Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
-
Proven ability to prioritize tasks and manage overlapping deadlines.
-
Confidence working independently with minimal supervision.
-
Authorization to work in Canada without current or future visa sponsorship.
Assets
-
Experience with SolidWorks, Innergy, or Bluebeam. In particular, experience with Innergy is desired.
-
Familiarity with AWMAC standards.
-
A portfolio showcasing millwork drawings or production-ready detailing.
