Position Summary

Magellan Aerospace, Glendale has a great opportunity for a Buyer! The successful incumbent will be responsible for purchasing goods and services for the company in an efficient and economical manner following established policies and procedures in processing purchase orders. The Buyer will be key in negotiating best value and implementing supplier service agreements and commercial contracts while conducting business with a high regard for ethical conduct at all times.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Follows policies and procedures for the purchase of goods and services established by the company.
  • Works with outside processing suppliers on daily deliveries.
  • Makes certain that purchasing documents are completed properly and the terms and conditions of purchase are appropriate and adhered to
  • Ensures that all suppliers maintain up to date certifications.
  • Act on approved requisitions, competitive bid and negotiate best value with select suppliers.
  • Ensure to follow-up and maintain contact with suppliers.
  • Support Operations as required ensure suppliers are adhering to purchase order schedule including when schedule changes occur.
  • Create purchase orders for all outside vendors per documented work instructions.
  • Work closely with Quality to ensure that quality statements are update to date and accurate.
  • Produce required reports and supplier delivery status in a timely manner.
  • Attend and actively participate in Magellan’s Procurement Council monthly meetings.
  • Conduct business and communication in a professional and ethical manner at all times.

Position Requirements

  • A university or college degree in Business or Materials Management with 2- 5 years of related experience, manufacturing is preferred (or equivalent).
  • Strong negotiating skills.
  • Good Microsoft office skills
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Attention to detail a must.
  • Highly organized
