Job Title: Business Law Lawyer - Bilingual

Salary: 120,000$ to 170,000$ (based on experience and qualifications)
Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Business Law Lawyer to join our legal team. The successful candidate will provide legal guidance on a wide range of corporate and commercial matters, supporting clients with business transactions, governance, compliance, and strategic decision-making. This role requires strong analytical skills, sound legal judgment, and the ability to communicate complex legal concepts clearly to clients and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities

Provide legal advice on corporate and commercial law matters, including business structuring, governance, and regulatory compliance.

Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of commercial agreements (e.g., shareholder agreements, partnership agreements, service agreements, and purchase agreements).

Support clients with mergers and acquisitions, corporate reorganizations, and other business transactions.

Conduct legal research and provide well-reasoned legal opinions.

Ensure clients remain compliant with applicable legislation and regulatory requirements.

Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to manage legal risks and support business objectives.

Represent clients in negotiations and assist in resolving commercial disputes where necessary.

Maintain accurate documentation and manage legal files in accordance with professional standards.
Qualifications

Juris Doctor (JD) or Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from an accredited law school.

Licensed and in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario.

5–10 years of experience practicing business or corporate law.

Fluently bilingual in English and French (spoken and written).

Demonstrated experience drafting and negotiating commercial agreements.

Strong knowledge of corporate governance, business transactions, and regulatory compliance.

Excellent analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.

Strong communication and client relationship management abilities.

Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

An existing book of business or established client relationships is considered a strong asset.
