Business Intelligence Developer
Direct Hire role with our client located north of Pittsburgh.

What You’ll Do
This role sits at the intersection of data, analytics, and business decision-making. As a Business Intelligence Developer, you’ll design scalable data solutions, build intuitive Power BI reporting, and prepare datasets that support advanced analytics and AI-assisted insights. You’ll work closely with business and technical partners to ensure data is accurate, performant, and structured for both human and machine-driven analysis.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Build and optimize SQL-based data solutions that power analytics, reporting, and AI-driven matching
- Develop Power BI dashboards and reports that deliver clear, actionable insights to stakeholders
- Create well-structured semantic datasets and metrics layers that support analytics, automation, and predictive use cases
- Improve data performance, reliability, and governance across reporting environments
- Enable clean, trusted data for AI-assisted analytics, search, and automated decision support
Your Day-to-Day
- Write, tune, and maintain complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and views
- Design and manage ETL / ELT pipelines feeding BI tools and analytics platforms
- Build and maintain Power BI datasets, dashboards, and paginated reports
- Develop DAX measures and Power Query transformations for scalable analytics
- Implement row-level security and follow reporting governance best practices
- Partner with stakeholders to translate business questions into technical reporting solutions
- Integrate data from ERP, CRM, CPQ, and other enterprise systems
- Monitor data refreshes, resolve issues, and continuously optimize performance
- Document data models and reporting logic to support reuse and AI discoverability
What You Bring
- 3–5+ years of experience working with SQL Server or similar relational databases
- Strong SQL development and performance tuning skills
- Hands-on experience with Power BI or comparable BI platforms
- Experience designing semantic models or metrics layers (Power BI datasets, Tabular, LookML, SSAS, dbt)
- Proficiency with DAX, Power Query (M), and data transformations
- Ability to translate business needs into scalable analytics solutions
- Understanding of how data structure impacts AI matching, search, and automated insights
Nice to Have (Not Required)
- Experience integrating data from enterprise systems (ERP, CRM, CPQ, workflow platforms)
- Familiarity with cloud data environments (Azure SQL, Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery, Synapse)
- Exposure to AI-assisted analytics, predictive modeling, or ML-ready datasets
- Experience with ETL tools or scripting (ADF, SSIS, Python, dbt)
