Business Intelligence - BI Developer (ETL)

Job Description


You will use your "tech" skills to help provide better home care for tens of thousands of aging customers across Canada. Your job is to leverage technology to allow front line caregivers to offer the maximum amount of patient care while minimizing distractions such as scheduling, directions, and paperwork.

Paramed helps people stay in their homes for as long as possible while retaining their health, independence and dignity. Your work on our mobile systems, data integration, business intelligence and analytics team will directly result in a better quality of life for thousands of people.

Your work will help Paramed to:

  • Optimize schedules (more time with patients, less time on the road)
  • Focus directly on patient needs (current care requirements)
  • Integrate data sources (one touch access to all patient information)
  • Leverage technology to reduce "obstacles" to providing patient care
  • Use modern technology to help staff focus on the things that matter (automating the routine tasks) to help patients live better lives
  • Design and build a reporting data repository populated from multiple sources (ParaMed operations (Procura); Extendicare corporate data: HRIS, General Ledger, etc.)
  • Design and build ETL (extract, transform, load) processes to populate and maintain reporting data repository primarily using SSIS
  • Design and create ad-hoc data cleaning and transformation scripts and processes using tools such as SQL, SSIS, Python
  • Assist with building reports and dashboards in Power BI
  • Assist with report validation
  • General data analysis experience including excellent understanding of SQL and complex queries
  • ETL (extract, transform, load) experience with an understanding of concepts such as data lineage, slow changing dimensions, point in time schemas
  • 3 years of reporting focused data modeling including dimensional models
  • Development experience using commercial reporting software such as (SSRS, Power BI, Cognos)
  • 5+ years of general professional experience
  • Experience with AlayaCare (formerly Complia) and the Procura application - technology platform for home and community care (preferred)
  • DBA experience (preferred)
  • Data science experience (Python , R etc.) (preferred)
  • Scripting or general programming experience
  • Mainly office environment with some minor local travel required
