Responsibilities

  • The Business Director will lead the commercial strategy, growth, and overall business performance for a portfolio of specialty chemicals serving the semiconductor manufacturing industry.
  • Develop and execute strategic business plans to drive revenue growth, profitability, and market share.
  • Lead sales, marketing, business development, and key account management activities across assigned markets.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with semiconductor manufacturers, foundries, OEMs, and strategic partners.
  • Identify new market opportunities, emerging technologies, and customer requirements within the semiconductor ecosystem.
  • Develop long-term growth strategies for advanced materials, electronic chemicals, and high-purity chemical products.
  • Establish sales forecasts, pricing strategies, budgets, and financial performance targets.
  • Monitor market trends, competitive activity, customer demand, and changes in semiconductor technology.
  • Partner closely with R&D, manufacturing, supply chain, quality, and technical service teams.
  • Translate customer and market needs into product development and investment priorities.
  • Lead negotiations involving strategic supply agreements, pricing, and long-term customer contracts.
  • Drive customer retention and expansion through exceptional commercial and technical support.
  • Ensure the business consistently meets revenue, margin, EBITDA, and growth objectives.
  • Develop and manage annual operating plans, capital requirements, and strategic investments.
  • Present business performance, market intelligence, and strategic recommendations to executive leadership.
  • Evaluate potential partnerships, acquisitions, licensing opportunities, and new product opportunities.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop commercial and business development team members.
  • Fully remote opportunity, up to 50% travel.

Requirements
  • The Business Director Bachelor’s degree in Business, Chemical Engineering, Polymer Science, Materials Science, or a related field required.
  • MBA or advanced technical degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive commercial, business development, and leadership experience in semiconductor chemicals, specialty chemicals, electronic materials, or a related advanced manufacturing industry required.
  • Global experience (Japan ideal).
  • Must be legally eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
