Position Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Senor Vice President of an asset-based flatbed, over dimensional, and heavy haul carrier with 30 years in the transportation industry and a new, progressive leadership team. With 150 tractors & 300 trailers, including Goldhofer, 19 Axle, 13-axle, Perimeter, Double-Drop Stretch, Single-Drop, Flatbed, 100-ton Cranes, Winch & Pole trucks operating from multiple locations in Texas, the company is poised to provide exceptional service to their current and future customer base.
The Business Development professional is responsible for aggressively prospecting for new business and securing additional business from existing customers to achieve revenue goals; Identify and deliver new avenues for profitable growth; Collaborate with the Operations team to review and respond to complex, large business request for proposals; Develop deep understanding of company’s services, effectively translating into value for prospects and customers; Rates loads, bid projects, and conduct market analysis of current market rates and opportunities to maximizes profitability of loads-projects to achieve or exceed FY budget plans; Diversifies customer base to achieve the goal of 25% diversification outside of the oil and gas markets by 2022 (i.e. aerospace, construction, heavy equipment, etc.); Communicates equipment needs with the operations department to ensure equipment is properly and timely maintained, and available for loading; Oversees revenue margin, growth, transportation margin and goal achievement for the designated region.

Background Required:
  • Over dimensional and heavy haul industry experience (10 years)
  • Load pricing, bidding projects, and rate analysis
  • Technical knowledge within the heavy-haul transportation industry
  • Demonstrated ability to sell to multiple levels of decision makers
  • National Account Management
  • Time & Territory Management - Reporting CRM
  • Track record of consistently achieving or beating sales targets
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)
  • Residence: Houston TX
Background Preferred (but not required):
  • Management and oversight of super-load/multi-axle loads
  • Equipment needs, proper equipment utilization, and equipment specifications
  • TMS experience
  • Education: College Graduate - BA or BS
