Position Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Branch Manager of a premier third-party transportation broker with nationwide offices that provides transport services for dry, refrigerated and flatbed freight.
Business Development Specialist is responsible for the complete sales process including prospecting, lead generation, pricing and closing the business. Responsible for drawing on unique competencies to demonstrate how the business can be beneficial to the customer. Ability to analyze, create presentations with experience working with customer service, and managing the startup process after the sale. Business Development Specialist will spend the majority of their time calling on potential and existing customers in an effort to grow the business base. Challenge is to increase revenues and maximize profitability.

Background Required:
  • Brokerage Sales and Operations (2+ years)
  • Mode of Transportation (i.e. Truckload, Dry Van, Reefer, Flatbed LTL, Intermodal)
  • Strong Selling Skills
  • Develop and execute business plan strategies
  • Strong Negotiation Ability (Carrier, Customer, Margin Integrity)
  • Managed KPI’s (i.e. Customer Development, Profitability, Market Penetration)
  • Computer literate: Microsoft (i.e. Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint, & Outlook)
  • Residence: Charlotte, North Carolina
Background Preferred (but not required):
  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree

  • Excellent communications (i.e. verbal, written, presentations)
