Position Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Business Development Manager for a courier organization committed to time sensitive, high value and mission critical shipments, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and 365 days a year. Tractor & trailers, straight trucks and cargo vans are ready to roll for direct, point-to-point service across North America. They are TSA compliant and is an expert at first and final mile ground transportation services for air freight shipments. Industries served include freight forwarders, customs brokers, transportation, logistics & warehousing, railroads, retail, government, defense, technology, electronics, manufacturing, trade show, entertainment, medical device, medical supply manufacturers & distributors, life sciences, biotech & pharmaceutical, and printing. The organization is a division of a parent company that is known for 3rd Party Logistics in multiple modes of transportation.
The Business Development Representative is responsible for pipeline generation for the entire sales team. Role will be focused on seeking new business opportunities by cold-calling and emailing potential customers to schedule initial meetings. Candidate will be qualifying marketing leads from multiple sources as sales opportunities and is expected to represent the company in a positive light. This individual will be held to meeting quotas monthly and proactively contacting potential clients through cold calls and emails as well as identify client needs. To be successful, candidate should have previous quota-carrying experience developing leads from marketing campaigns in a fast-paced high-volume (between 50 & 60 calls daily) environment. Goal is to increase revenue, optimize the clients costs, and deliver value for the organization.
