Business Development Representative in Payroll Services

We are seeking a driven Business Development Representative to join our established payroll processing company based in Brooklyn, NY. This pivotal role involves developing new business opportunities within the New York Metropolitan area and nationally through virtual channels. The ideal candidate will exhibit a hunter mentality, focusing on driving revenue growth by prospecting, establishing, and maintaining strong relationships with potential clients. This hybrid position requires being in the office 50% of the time near the Brooklyn Navy Yard.

Salary: $50,000 - $80,000 per year plus commissions, benefits, and a generous PTO policy

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Identify and target potential clients through strategic research, robust networking, and effective cold/warm outreach tactics.
  • Develop and nurture strong professional relationships with business owners and C-level executives through consistent communication and personalized engagement strategies.
  • Deliver impactful presentations and customized product demonstrations to highlight the advantages of our services, turning prospects into loyal clients.
  • Effectively manage and prioritize sales leads and opportunities to achieve and surpass sales targets.
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams such as marketing and customer support to ensure coherent client experiences and strategic alignment of sales initiatives.
  • Meticulously track sales activities, assessing performance metrics, and regularly update management on sales progress and results.

Minimum Position Qualifications:

  • At least 2 years of proven experience in B2B sales, with a preference for backgrounds in payroll services or a closely related industry.
  • Demonstrated expertise in sales processes and techniques, backed by a successful track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, adept at identifying sales opportunities and navigating obstacles.
  • Advanced computer proficiency and exceptional organizational skills.

  • Experience managing complex sales cycles within the payroll or financial services sector.
  • Familiarity with CRM platforms and sales automation tools.
