Position Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Regional Director of the Southeast for a full-service non-asset based international and domestic freight forwarder and customs brokerage company. They have grown rapidly through acquisitions and organic growth and will continue to do so in the same way in the coming few years.
The Business Development Manager is responsible for increasing gross profit and market share, while developing ongoing relationships with new and existing customers. This is an entrepreneurial sales role that allows you to create new opportunities and aggressively attack new accounts while maintaining and growing existing ones. To be successful in this role, you will transition your existing book of business into an environment that allows you to grow and expand, while allowing you the flexibility to engage new customers and opportunities in “customized” service solutions.

Background Required:
- Proven track record of sales success in freight forwarding, CHB, or logistics industry (3-5+ years)
- Multimodal (e.g., Air, Ocean, Import/Export, FTL, LTL, Rail)
- Understanding of end to end supply chain solutions
- Excellent knowledge of local markets
- Negotiations
- Bids and proposals preparation and presentation
- Experience with customer retention systems
- Travel up to 50%
- Computer systems: MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, & Outlook)
- Residence: Greater Atlanta, GA area
- Education: Bachelor’s degree
- Industry systems: CargoWise
- Ability to “hunt” and “farm” simultaneously
- Executive level presentation skills (C level, VP & Directors)
- Excellent communication skills (verbal & written)
- Self-motivated
- Customer focused
- High energy
