Position Responsibilities:
Reporting to the local Branch Manager for a non-asset based international and domestic freight forwarder and customs brokerage company. Our client has been in business for over 70 years and employs over 180 people in the United States.
The Business Development Manager is responsible for increasing gross profit and market share and developing ongoing relationships with new and existing customers to retain customer volume while marketing new products and services. This role allows you to create new opportunities and bring on new accounts while maintaining and growing existing, assigned accounts.

Background Required:
  • Proven track record of sales success in freight forwarding (5+ years)
  • Time, territory & contact management (e.g., CRM)
  • Transpacific Eastern Bound orientation
  • Understanding of end to end supply chain solutions
  • Excellent knowledge of local markets
  • Bids, proposals, & negotiations
  • Travel up to 75%
  • Computer systems: MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, & Outlook)
  • Residence: Greater Los Angeles, CA area
Background Preferred (but not required):
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree
  • Asia Pacific market understanding
Other Essential Abilities and Skills:
  • Ability to “hunt” and “farm” simultaneously
  • Executive level presentation skills (C level, VP & Directors)
