Position Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Director of Brokerage of a privately-owned 3PL specializing in full-service solutions that are flexible and customizable, designed to adapt quickly to the demands of business and an ever-changing economic landscape.
The Business Development Manager is responsible for maintaining and growing the Brokerage customer base, generating sales, developing advantageous pricing strategies, as well as coaching and mentoring Account Managers in the Domestic Brokerage business. Will work directly with National Account Managers to build new relationships, maintain, and grow existing relationships with Strategic Accounts to become subject matter experts. Will work directly with Carrier Sales team to ensure timely pickup and delivery and communicate market changes. Responsible for generating and identifying new sales opportunities through research, analysis, and discovery to match up with the organization’s service offerings. Will collaborate with the team on pricing, strategy and account management implementation plans.

Background Required:
  • Brokerage Account Management and Operations (4+ years)
  • Modes of Transportation (i.e. Truckload, LTL, IML services)
  • Negotiations (Carrier, Customer)
  • KPI Management
  • Prepare requests for proposals (RFPs) and requests for quotations (RFQs)
  • Metrics measurements (i.e. pricing, delivery, costs, quality, audits)
  • Coach, mentor, lead Account Managers
  • Computer literate: Microsoft (i.e. Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint, & Outlook)
  • Residence: Columbus, OH
