Business Development Manager

BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER

Job Duties

  • Responsible for all new shipper activations through various outbound tactics and strategies
  • Develop and maintain active shipper pipeline through initial outreach to official onboarding; in addition, communicate notable deal stages and escalate calls for support where needed
  • Proactively sell all brokerage service offerings and tailor sales pitch accordingly based on shipper needs
  • Negotiate contract redlines and other customer requirements prior to signing agreement
  • Lead shipper onboarding process with assigned account owner and document volume and revenue expectations prior to first ship date; in most cases, account manage through first 10 shipments before account handoff
  • Point of escalation when requested by account owner to troubleshoot issues, manage expectations and implement corrective action plan if necessary
  • Assist with shipper meeting, quarterly business reviews and other applicable face to face meetings to develop strong customer relationships
  • Attend industry events and tradeshows to promote Bettaway’s brand
  • Travel to corporate HQ once per quarter as necessary

Qualifications

  • 3 to 5 years of selling freight at a reputable 3PL or brokerage
  • Proven track record with selling multimodal brokerage and onboarding new shippers
  • Ability to develop and manage active pipeline through initial outreach to onboarding
  • Strong comfortability with achieving monthly revenue and new shipper quotas
  • Articulate and familiarity delivering sales presentations to prospective shippers
  • Good negotiator, highly organized and showcases a winning attitude
  • Desire to work autonomously while proactively providing relevant updates to internal stakeholders
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to persuade decision makers
  • Understanding of MS Office and other TMS platforms
