Position Overview
We are seeking a results-driven Business Development Manager to drive growth within the Occupational Health market, with a particular focus on Occupational First Aid accounts and distribution partners.
The successful candidate will serve as a trusted advisor and primary point of contact for assigned accounts, developing strong relationships with both distribution partners and end users while identifying opportunities to expand product adoption and increase revenue.
This role combines strategic account management, business development, channel sales, and consultative selling. The ideal candidate understands how to navigate complex customer relationships, identify unmet needs, develop growth strategies, negotiate favorable outcomes, and translate customer challenges into solutions.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced field sales professional with a proven track record in Occupational First Aid, healthcare, medical device, safety, or related markets who enjoys owning a territory and building long-term customer partnerships.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key accounts, distribution partners, and end users.
- Serve as a trusted advisor by developing a deep understanding of customer goals, challenges, business priorities, and opportunities.
- Develop and execute account growth strategies designed to increase revenue, retention, and customer satisfaction.
- Identify opportunities to expand product portfolios within existing Occupational First Aid accounts.
- Drive new revenue growth through consultative selling and strategic account development.
- Present and demonstrate products and solutions based on customer needs and business objectives.
- Develop pricing strategies and customer proposals in partnership with internal Commercial Operations teams.
- Establish and monitor account KPIs to ensure year-over-year growth and performance objectives are achieved.
- Develop sales forecasts and territory growth strategies aligned with broader organizational revenue objectives.
- Partner cross-functionally with Marketing, Operations, Customer Service, Contracting, and Strategic Accounts to support customer and revenue initiatives.
- Support new product launches, promotions, and product-focused marketing initiatives.
- Stay current on industry trends, market conditions, and external issues impacting customers and the Occupational Health market.
- Participate in company training programs and maintain the product knowledge necessary to effectively educate and support end users.
- Plan, manage, and attend industry trade shows, conferences, and other customer-facing events.
Ideal Background
- 5+ years of field sales experience with a demonstrated history of consistently meeting or exceeding sales quota.
- 3+ years of sales experience within the Occupational First Aid market is strongly preferred.
- At least 2 years of experience managing multiple strategic/key accounts with $1M+ in annual revenue.
- Proven experience selling through distribution channels and/or channel partners.
- Strong track record of growing existing accounts while identifying and developing new revenue opportunities.
- Experience in medical devices, healthcare, occupational health, emergency medical services, public safety, workplace safety, or a related industry is highly valued.
- Familiarity with medical terminology and medical products/devices is beneficial.
- Strong account management, relationship-building, and consultative selling skills.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze customer needs, identify opportunities, and develop effective solutions.
- Strong sales forecasting, territory planning, and pipeline management skills.
- Proven negotiation skills with the ability to create mutually beneficial outcomes for customers and the organization.
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills with the ability to communicate effectively across technical, operational, and executive audiences.
- Highly organized with strong time management and the ability to independently manage a remote territory.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Marketing, or a related field preferred; equivalent professional experience may be considered.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to quickly learn new technology and business systems.
- Must have reliable transportation for customer and business travel.
- English language fluency required.
