Position Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Vice President, Sales is a fast-growing third-party logistics provider servicing freight forwarders and shippers across the US.
The Business Development Manager will be responsible for refining an ideal client profile by cold outreach (phone, email, LinkedIn, etc.) and networking events. Will conduct introductory calls with new prospects to qualify and define pain points and become the optimal business partner. Maintain regular contact with customers and partner with Leadership, Account Managers & Carrier Sales Team to identify new opportunities to upsell, cross-sell product and service offerings. Communicate monthly reports and quarterly business reviews with Key Stakeholders. Challenge is to successfully grow new and existing customer accounts by providing superior service and ensuring best practices are being utilized by all team members, while increasing revenues and improving profitability.

Background Required:
  • Outside Business Development in Brokerage environment (3+ years)
  • Modes of transportation (primarily Truckload)
  • Strong Negotiation Ability (Carrier, Customer, Margin Integrity)
  • Computer literate (Microsoft Suite: Power Point, Word, Excel)
  • 50% travel capabilities
  • Residence: Elk Grove, IL
Background Preferred (but not required):
  • Understanding of the Freight Forwarding industry
  • Education: College Graduate - BA or BS
