Position Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Branch President of non-asset-based transportation provider that built a strong reputation in the market through its service intensity and agility, deep network footprint, established market expertise, and highly efficient technology and processes.
The Business Development Manager is responsible for the continued growth and development of a high performing, inside sales team. Will generate new business opportunities through research, analysis, and discovery and assist in the transition to the operations team and identify opportunities for continued growth with new and existing client base. Will coach and mentor employees to ensure sales, revenue growth, and individual KPIs are met while assisting with closing accounts and client relations. Will assist employees with quoting, bis, pricing, RFP’s, and strategies to prospect new customers. Will review, analyze, and communicate an in-depth understanding of freight market conditions and business trends to offer solutions internally and externally. Will work alongside senior management and recruiting department in candidate selection process for the respective team. Challenge is to build a world-class team, develop high-level service offerings, motivate, and lead a staff, while increasing revenues and improving profitability.

Background Required:
- Sales and business development within logistics (3+ years)
- Mode of Transportation (i.e. Truckload, LTL, Intermodal, Specialized)
- Strong Selling Skills
- Proven track record of closing business individually and through the team
- Strong Negotiation Ability (Carrier, Customer, Margin Integrity)
- Develop and execute business plan strategies.
- Computer literate (Microsoft Suite: Power Point, Word, Excel)
- Residence: Birmingham, AL (relocation)
- Sales Management (Hire, Train, Coach, Mentor) (2+ years)
- Education: College Degree
