Headquartered in Europe, the business has been making a significant investment in building out its North American presence and is focused on supporting biotech and advanced therapy companies from early development through commercial manufacturing.

The company employs roughly 800–1,200 people globally, with a growing North American team of 100–200+ employees and a regional revenue target in the $100M+ range. They operate across multiple sites in North America and Europe and support global development and commercialization programs.

Position Overview

This is a field-based Business Development role focused on growing the company’s West Coast footprint. You will own a California territory that already has some existing business but offers significant white space and new-logo opportunity.

This role is built for a true hunter, someone who enjoys building a territory, opening doors, and developing long-term customer relationships. You’ll serve as a consultative partner to biotech and pharma clients, helping them navigate complex analytical and CMC needs across biologics, cell & gene therapy, and small molecule programs.

The North American organization is in growth mode, creating strong visibility and long-term career upside for someone who wants to help build, not just maintain.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive new customer acquisition across biotech and pharma accounts
  • Convert warm inbound leads into active projects and long-term partnerships
  • Territory strategy, prospecting, and account planning
  • Build strong relationships with scientific, technical, and procurement stakeholders
  • Act as a trusted commercial partner
  • Spend time in the field meeting customers face to face
  • Partner closely with internal scientific and operations teams to design custom solutions
  • Maintain a disciplined approach to pipeline management and forecasting

Compensation

  • Base Salary: $150,000–$185,000 (flexible for the right candidate)
  • Bonus: ~30% at plan with upside through accelerators
  • Total On-Target Earnings: $195,000–$240,000+
