Position Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Vice President of Sales of an end-to-end freight forwarding company with 31 locations (7 in the USA; 24 worldwide) and a portfolio of services that includes freight forwarding (i.e. air), warehousing & CFS, customs clearance & brokerage, and visibility tools. The Business Development Manager-High Tech primary role is to drive revenue growth in the high tech, electronics, and semiconductor sectors by strategic, customer focused selling of all products and services. Will develop new business along with growing and maintaining current assigned accounts. Coordinates complete sales cycle process including prospect list initiation, lead generation, prospect qualification, analysis, RFQs, pricing, proposal preparation & presentation(s), contract signing, start-up and customer service follow-up after the sale. Continually collaborates with the organization’s leadership and operation’s team to increase revenues, optimize costs, and maximize profits.

Background Required:
  • Freight forwarding sales (5 years)
  • Knowledge of High Tech Industry (i.e. semiconductors, consumer electronics, contract manufacturers)
  • Proven track record of success
  • Multimodal (i.e. air, ocean, import/export, FTL, LTL, rail)
  • Bids, proposals and negotiations
  • Time, territory & contact management (i.e. CRM)
  • Travel up to 50%
  • Computer literate: Microsoft suite (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Residence: Home Office (USA)

  • CargoWise
  • Freight forwarding operations
  • Reverse logistics
  • Value added sales (i.e. customs brokerage, warehousing & CFS)
  • Advanced education: MBA
