Position Responsibilities:
Reporting to the CEO for a provider of freight forwarding, customs brokerage, packing & crating, project freight and supply chain management services. Our client specializes in developing customized solutions and designing a customer service experience based on client-specific input. They tailor services to meet individual client needs going beyond merely booking cargo or managing freight.
The Business Development Manager HOU is responsible for the development of new clients through direct meetings and strategic, customer focused selling and will secure competitive pricing, coordinate complete sales cycle process to include lead generation, prospect qualification, analysis, RFQs, proposal preparation and presentation, contract signing, start-up and customer service follow-up after the. The challenge of the role is to expand account base, increase brand recognition, increase revenues and improve profitability.

Background Required:
  • International or domestic freight forwarding or NVO sales experience (3 years)
  • Knowledge of local markets
  • Proven track record of success
  • Multimodal knowledge (Air, Ocean, Import/Export, FTL, LTL, rail)
  • Negotiation skills
  • Travel up to 25%
  • Computer literate (Office suite - Power Point, Word, Excel)
  • Residence: Greater Houston, TX area
Background Preferred (but not required):
  • Bilingual: English & Spanish
  • Large account management
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree
