SURGO is recruiting for an experienced Business Development Manager BPO Sector to join

their fast-growing team.

Job purpose:

The purpose of the Business Development Manager BPO Sector is to develop and diversify

business so that income increases, and the future and growth of the organization are guaranteed

by identifying new business opportunities while maintaining current business relationships. Your

work can involve careful strategic planning and positioning in the appropriate markets and

enhancing the operation of the business, position or reputation in some way.


  • National Senior Certificate (Grade 12)
  • Tertiary Qualification: Business, Marketing or Sales
  • 3 years plus experience in sourcing new potential clients in a BPO sector (Advantageous)
  • Existing business network
  • Excellent communication and sales skills
  • Brilliant track record in securing new business
  • Excellent negotiating and persuading skills
  • Valid driver’s license and own vehicle
  • Experience in networking with International BPO clients (Advantageous)
  • Client management: Ability to establish and build relationships with clients
  • Great presentation: Suit and tie

Business Development Management:

  • Be the first point of contact a new potential client on the products and services the

company provides.

The BDM also responds to RFP's (Request for Proposal), tenders, anddevelops sales in new sales territories

  • Developing growth strategies and plans
  • Managing and retaining relationships with existing clients
  • Increasing client base
  • Having an in-depth knowledge of business products and value proposition
  • Writing business proposals
  • Negotiating with stakeholders
  • Identifying and mapping business strengths and customer needs
  • Researching business opportunities and viable income streams
  • Following industry trends locally and internationally
  • Drafting and reviewing contracts
  • Reporting on successes and areas needing improvements
  • Ensure Client SLA are met at all times
  • Ensure Due Dilgilince reporting and set up of operations to deliver the promised services

effectively and efficiently

  • Adherence to promised time-lines and targets of Client
  • Ensure all spreadsheets, and relevant trackers and databases are consistently up to date

that enable both macro and micro data

  • Daily reporting to the Head of Operations and Business Development on clients, trends and

Service Performance Metrics

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Engage with the client on a regular basis to ensure alignment with overall strategic

objectives and SLA KPA’s

  • Regular updates to the client on all aspects
  • Responsible for the entertainment of clients on a regular basis – reciprocity in action
  • Ensure co-operation between all internal stakeholders and departments
  • Foster beneficial relationships with all internal stakeholders

Working hours:

  • 40 hours a week – Monday to Friday only. From time to time, you may be required to work

overtime due to operational requirements


  • Market related, depending on the level of experience
