JOB TITLE: Business Development Director

Job Summary: The Business Development Manager will oversee and lead the activities of the Business Development Department.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • Hire and train Business Development team.
  • Create a culture of success.
  • Develop plans and strategies for achieving business and achieving company sales goals.
  • Organize and oversee the schedules, territories, and performance of Business Development team.
  • Define and oversee staff compensation and incentive programs that motivate the team to achieve their goals.
  • Conduct performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.
  • Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.

Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Provides leadership to the Business Development team.
  • Develops and implements new sales initiatives, strategies, and programs to capture key demographics.
  • Monitor customer, market and competitor activity and provide feedback to leadership.
  • Motivates and encourages team to ensure quotas are met.
  • Reviews and analyzes sales, operational records, and reports; uses data to project sales, determine profitability and targets, and identify new markets.
  • Identifies and analyzes customer preferences to properly direct sales efforts.
  • Consults with potential customers to understand their needs; identifies and suggests services that will meet those needs.
  • Resolves customer complaints, staffing problems, and other issues that may interfere with efficient sales operations.
  • Collaborates with executive leadership to develop sales quotas and strategies.
  • Prepares sales budget; monitors and approves expenses.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Business Administration, or related field, OR
  • Comparable record of sales leadership experience required.
  • At least five years of sales experience required.

Physic al Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
