Job Summary: The Business Development Manager will oversee and lead the activities of the Business Development Department.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Hire and train Business Development team.
- Create a culture of success.
- Develop plans and strategies for achieving business and achieving company sales goals.
- Organize and oversee the schedules, territories, and performance of Business Development team.
- Define and oversee staff compensation and incentive programs that motivate the team to achieve their goals.
- Conduct performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.
- Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Provides leadership to the Business Development team.
- Develops and implements new sales initiatives, strategies, and programs to capture key demographics.
- Monitor customer, market and competitor activity and provide feedback to leadership.
- Motivates and encourages team to ensure quotas are met.
- Reviews and analyzes sales, operational records, and reports; uses data to project sales, determine profitability and targets, and identify new markets.
- Identifies and analyzes customer preferences to properly direct sales efforts.
- Consults with potential customers to understand their needs; identifies and suggests services that will meet those needs.
- Resolves customer complaints, staffing problems, and other issues that may interfere with efficient sales operations.
- Collaborates with executive leadership to develop sales quotas and strategies.
- Prepares sales budget; monitors and approves expenses.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

- Strong supervisory, leadership and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Business Administration, or related field, OR
- Comparable record of sales leadership experience required.
- At least five years of sales experience required.
Physic al Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
