Business Development Manager: Food & CPG

Our Client/Purpose:
Our client is a leader in advanced automation solutions, specializing in material handling, waterjet cutting, laser cutting, and system integration technologies. With a commitment to enhancing productivity and precision, delivering tailored systems that optimize production workflows and drive profitability.

As a Business Development Manager, you’ll play a pivotal role in expanding the reach and success of advanced automation solutions across North America. Your focus will be on developing and promoting material handling, waterjet cutting, laser cutting, and systems integration solutions, while building lasting relationships with clients and driving sales growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Achieve Sales Targets: Meet and exceed established sales goals in line with annual budgets.
  • Identify Market Opportunities: Analyze market trends and opportunities, building strategic business cases to support revenue growth.
  • Develop Strategic Solutions: Create and promote systems concepts and strategies tailored to the needs of target markets.
  • Expand Client Base: Identify and engage new clients in need of automation solutions, fostering long-term partnerships.
  • Collaborate on Solutions: Work closely with the applications team to design innovative solutions for new and existing customers.
  • Grow Aftermarket Potential: Partner with the Aftermarket team to identify additional opportunities, supporting both systems and integration growth.
  • Act as Primary Contact: Serve as the main liaison, ensuring smooth customer interactions and high satisfaction.
  • Manage Territory Growth: Regularly engage with key accounts to nurture relationships and identify further growth opportunities.
  • Engage in Industry Events: Participate in tradeshows and technical forums, staying current with industry advancements and networking with potential clients.

Qualifications

  • Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree and 6-8 years of experience in territorial sales, with a preference for field office experience.
  • Travel Ready: Frequent travel required; must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Excellent Communication Skills: Strong negotiating, organizational, and interpersonal abilities.
  • Technical Proficiency: High understanding of manufacturing, with analytical skills and proficiency in MS Office.
  • Self-Motivated & Strategic: A proactive approach, with a balance of strategic thinking and attention to detail.
