Business Development Representative (B2G)

Role Overview

We are seeking a B2G-focused Business Development Representative (BDR) to partner closely with Sales and Marketing in building and advancing a high-quality municipal pipeline.

This individual will play a critical role in generating qualified opportunities, booking meetings, and driving early-stage deal momentum across targeted territories.

You will engage directly with city managers, department heads, procurement teams, innovation groups, and elected officials, helping position a differentiated platform within the public sector ecosystem.


Key Responsibilities

  • Prospect and qualify municipal leads across assigned territories
  • Book meetings and product demos for Account Executives and Sales leadership
  • Execute outbound outreach campaigns via email, phone, and LinkedIn
  • Manage pre- and post-conference outreach to drive pipeline development
  • Conduct structured follow-up with municipalities after demos, pilots, and meetings
  • Research city organizational structures and identify key stakeholders
  • Maintain accurate CRM records and activity tracking (HubSpot or similar)
  • Support territory planning, account mapping, and strategic targeting
  • Assist with early-stage RFP/RFI discovery and qualification efforts

Required Experience & Skills

  • Experience in B2G sales, public sector business development, or related environment
  • Strong understanding of municipal sales cycles and procurement processes
  • Comfortable engaging senior government stakeholders
  • Experience using CRM platforms (e.g., HubSpot or similar)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and follow-through
  • Tech-savvy and comfortable learning new tools and platforms
  • Experience with Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides)

Preferred Background

  • Experience selling SaaS or GovTech solutions
  • Familiarity with conferences, trade shows, or public sector engagement environments
  • Willingness and flexibility to travel for key meetings and industry events

Compensation

  • Base Salary: ~$65,000 – $75,000
  • Uncapped commission structure

Hiring Process
