**Contract to Hire**
What you will be doing as the Business Analyst:
- Support our quarterly regulatory reporting as well as support our new initiatives/policy administration systems
- Experienced knowledge of reporting tools and databases: Strong knowledge of business information data sources and business data rules.
- Formulate and define system scope and objectives through research and fact-finding combined with an understanding of the applicable business solutions and requirements.
- Analyzes, identifies, and writes detailed description of system requirements.
- Makes recommendations for business process improvements with an understanding of technical problems and solutions.
- Prepares analysis for production support of systems and applications and associated documentation.
- Acts as a liaison between business units and IT. Develops and maintains knowledge of customer’s business.
- Assist with the implementation of operational and system enhancements to ensure production
capabilities are both effective and efficient.
- Develops and executes test plans based on current and future production needs.
- Documents problems and coordinates resolutions.
- Coordinates project with enterprise stakeholders.
- Exhibits strong business knowledge and builds strong customer relationships.
What you will need as the Business Analyst:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Computer Science or related discipline or equivalent work experience.
- 3-5 years of related experience – IT and or Business Analysis that includes testing, debugging, documenting and/or maintaining applications or using applications in a business setting.
- Strong analytical skills
- Experience with relational database tools (ie SQL, Cognos, etc.)
- Previous experience in the P&C insurance industry preferred.
- Beginning coursework toward certification in area of expertise preferred; appropriate certifications could include; an Associate Insurance Data Manager (AIDM), Certificate in General Insurance (INS), or Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter (CPCU).
- Exhibits strong business knowledge and analytical skills.
- Previous experience in the P&C insurance industry, a plus
- Proficient in Microsoft Access and Excel
- Proven experience with relational data base tools (i.e. SQL, Cognos, etc)
- Ability to work effectively with associates at all levels within the organization
- Proven ability to handle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
