Position Responsibilities:
Reporting to the General Manager for a leading privately held regional & multi-regional dry van carrier. In business for more than 90 years, the company also offers full-service spotting, shuttling, & local & regional over-the-road services. With over $20 million in revenue, the company has 80 tractors & 300 trailers operating from terminals in the Midwest and Southeast.
The Brokerage Sales Manager is responsible for the management of all sales and operations, including market competitiveness, pricing, and channel growth strategies with the branch. Will create profitable growth revenue by soliciting new sources of revenue and profit. Also responsible for development and growth of an inside sales team. Manage all aspects of the sales functions including inside sales, customer service, and current account growth. Will manage customer relations and development activities that support the execution of strategies and action plans to enable the profitable growth of the business unit. Responsible for the development and implementation of an aggressive growth plan of the non-asset brokerage business. Will assist and handoff to a team of 10+ who operate in both a customer/carrier model and cradle to grave account specific model. Challenge is to build a world-class team, develop high-level service offerings, motivate and lead a staff, while increasing revenues and improving profitability.

Background Required:
  • 5+ years’ experience in Customer sales and business development of Brokerage
  • Strong selling skills
  • Proven track record of growth year over year in top line revenue
  • Modes of transportation (Van, Reefer, Flatbed, IMDL, LTL)
  • Sales Management (Inside and Outside)
  • Sales Development (Coach, Train)
  • Support and implement sales/business plans, strategies, procedures and metrics
  • Ability to manage customer service and carrier issues / problem resolution
  • Experience in pricing and margin integrity
  • Ability to manage KPI's (customer development, profitability, market penetration)
  • Computer literate (Microsoft Suite: Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
