Position Responsibilities:
Reports to CEO for a growing regional truckload and brokerage transportation logistics firm. With over 50 associates including 40 company drivers, 45 tractors, and 50 dry vans. The culture is a fun, friendly, yet professional work environment where associates are treated like family.
The Brokerage Manager is responsible for the development and management of all sales and operations, including market competitiveness, pricing, and channel growth strategies for the branch. Will assume complete P&L responsibility with high growth expectations that would align with the site and overall organizational strategy. Will create profitable growth revenue with current accounts, while soliciting new sources of revenue and profit. Also responsible for development and growth of an inside sales, account management, and carrier sales teams. Will establish and manage carrier relations and development activities that support the execution of strategies and action plans to enable the profitable growth of the business unit. Will work in coordination with other company resources, develop the strategic and tactical direction for the business unit, and establish management processes. This is a “coach player” opportunity and the ideal candidate will have an entrepreneurial mindset and approach to growing the division. Challenge is to build a world-class team, develop high-level service offerings, motivate, and lead a staff, while increasing revenues and improving profitability.

Background Required:
  • Freight Brokerage Sales and Operations (6+ years)
  • Sales Management (Hire, Train, Coach, Mentor) (2+ years)
  • Mode of Transportation (i.e. Truckload, LTL, Intermodal, Specialized)
  • Strong Selling Skills
  • Strong Negotiation Ability (Carrier, Customer, Margin Integrity)
  • Develop and execute business plan strategies
  • Computer literate (Microsoft Suite: Power Point, Word, Excel)
  • Residence: Ann Arbor, MI
