JOB TITLE: Brand Development and Public Affairs Manager
LOCATION: Westmoorings, POS
REPORTS TO: Chief Executive Officer

Purpose of the Job:
The Brand Development and Public Affairs Manager strategically monitors market trends and stakeholder interests, manages marketing and advertising initiatives to ensure alignment with the organization’s brand, and adapts or strengthens the brand messaging as necessary to effectively reach target audiences.
Duties and Responsibilities
Membership Management
-
Assist in increasing membership by a minimum of 5% per annum.

Ensure timely and efficient processing of membership applications and onboarding.

Maintain an accurate and up-to-date membership database and directories.

Manage membership-related issues professionally, escalating as needed.

Contribute to developing programmes and services that provide membership value.

Support advocacy efforts by regularly polling members on issues impacting their businesses.
Direct Marketing

Provide strategic input into the marketing of the organization’s products and services.

Assist in developing marketing materials and programmes that drive engagement.

Coordinate artwork, graphic design, and review of copy for marketing content.

Devise strategies for leveraging social media platforms for marketing initiatives.
-
Manage and monitor social media content using tools such as Smartsheet.
-
Ensure effective promotion of events to optimize attendance.
Communications
-
Promote the organization’s services and activities through targeted communication and public relations.

Ensure all organizational communications are high-quality, accurate, and consistent with brand standards.

Distribute communications to media and other external stakeholders in a timely manner.

Monitor press conferences and support the timely preparation of media releases.

Oversee website content to ensure it is current and relevant.

Track media activity and facilitate timely sharing of relevant information.
Event Management

Manage communication materials for organizational events.
Academic / Technical Qualifications and Experience
-
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Business, Marketing, English, Journalism, or a related discipline.

Master’s degree in Communications, Media Relations, or a related field.
-
At least 5 years of experience in a communications department or team leadership role.

Minimum 2 years of experience collaborating with or directing graphic designers.
