Position Responsibilities:
Reporting to the President/ Regional Sales Director of a fast-growing logistics provider in business for nearly 2 decades. The organization places a high value on honest communication and building strong, long-lasting relationships with both customers, carriers and employees.

Responsible for the creation of a start-up branch, which will include office space selection and design, profit and loss management, management of all sales and operations, inducing market competitiveness, pricing, and channel growth strategies. Will create profitable growth revenue by soliciting new sources of revenue and profit. Also responsible for development and growth of a profitable operation including sales, account management, and carrier sales. Manage all aspects of the sales functions including inside sales, customer service, and carrier sales. Will establish and manage carrier relations and development activities that support the execution of strategies and action plans to enable the profitable growth of the business unit. Responsible for the development and implementation of an aggressive growth plan of the non-asset brokerage business. Will work in coordination with other company resources, develop the strategic and tactical direction for the business unit, and establish management processes. Challenge is to build a world-class team, develop high-level service offerings, motivate and lead a staff, while increasing revenues and improving profitability.

Background Required:
  • Freight Brokerage Sales, Account Management, and Operations (8+ years)
  • Customer Sales Management (Hire, Train, Coach, Mentor, Team Building) (2+ years)
  • Carrier Sales and Carrier Development
  • Mode of Transportation (Truckload, Specialized, LTL)
  • Strong Selling Skills
  • Strong Negotiation Ability (Carrier, Customer, Margin Integrity)
  • Develop and execute business plan strategies
  • Computer literate (Microsoft Suite: Power Point, Word, Excel)
  • Residence: Nashville, Atlanta, Chattanooga, Charlotte, Charleston, Jacksonville, Dallas, Memphis
Background Preferred (but not required):

  • Experience within a start-up environment
  • Experience with implementing TMS systems
  • Education: College Graduate
