Branch Manager – Title Insurance Company

Location: Okemos / Lansing, Michigan

Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Branch Manager to lead our Okemos/Lansing branch. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in title insurance and real estate transactions, along with proven leadership and operational expertise. You’ll be responsible for managing day-to-day operations, overseeing a talented team, and growing our presence in the Greater Lansing market.

This is a high-impact leadership role ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, client-focused environment and enjoys building relationships within the Mid-Michigan real estate community.

Key Responsibilities:

Branch Operations & Compliance:

  • Oversee all aspects of branch operations including title, escrow, and closing services.
  • Ensure full compliance with Michigan title laws, ALTA Best Practices, and internal quality standards.
  • Monitor workflow and manage production to ensure timely and accurate closings.
  • Review and resolve complex title issues and approve final policies and documents.

Client & Community Engagement:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with local real estate agents, mortgage lenders, attorneys, builders, and brokers.
  • Act as the face of the branch at industry functions and networking events across Ingham, Clinton, and Eaton counties.
  • Lead client retention and satisfaction efforts by ensuring high-quality service and follow-through.

Leadership & Team Development:

  • Hire, train, and lead a high-performing staff including escrow officers, title examiners, and administrative personnel.
  • Set clear performance expectations, conduct regular evaluations, and provide mentorship and support.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Business Growth & Strategic Planning:

  • Collaborate with senior leadership to set and achieve growth targets for the Lansing/Okemos market.
  • Develop and implement strategies to increase market share and expand service offerings.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 7 years of experience in title insurance, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or management role.
  • Strong knowledge of Michigan title insurance laws and local real estate practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage staff, resolve complex title issues, and grow business in a competitive market.
  • Proficiency in industry software RamQuest, preferred but not required.
  • Exceptional communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

Preferred:

  • Michigan Title Insurance License (or ability to obtain).
  • Existing relationships with professionals in the Okemos, Lansing, East Lansing, and surrounding areas.
  • Familiarity with underwriting requirements from national title underwriters.
