Job Description

We are currently hiring a dedicated and experienced Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) for the Adult Program in northern New Jersey with travel throughout this area.

Overview:

To provide Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities living in community based residential settings. To provide training and supervision to support staff to enable the individuals to develop adaptive skills so they achieve greater independence and quality of life.

Responsibilities:

  • Assess behavioral needs using functional behavioral assessments, develop and implement appropriate plan of interventions, assess and modify plan in response to changing behavioral health needs of individuals served.
  • Provide hands-on and administrative training by supervising the general behavioral needs of each individual served while promoting a person-oriented approach to behavioral supports.
  • Interact with support staff and administration to ensure continuity, accurate timely documentation and coordination of care.
  • Document information and interventions in accordance with Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD), Medicaid and ALLIES, INC. requirements.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisor, other support staff, families and outside agencies as appropriate. Participate in person-centered treatment team meetings and staff meetings as assigned, as well as attend monthly treatment team meetings
  • Provide training for individuals served in the areas of managing behavioral needs and conduct on-going training for staff as directed.
  • Provide training for support staff on specific behavioral support methods and plans related to the specific needs of the individuals served.
  • Review the implementation of approved treatment plans/programs.
  • Respond to crises and provide interventions as needed, including but not limited to hands-on restraints if required.
  • Review pertinent records of individuals on a need-to-know basis, while following HIPAA (Health Information Portability Accountability Act of 1996) guidelines.
  • Recommend policies and procedures on behavioral support/intervention/planning as new methods become available.
  • Participate in appropriate professional growth and continuing education opportunities.
  • Works with each individual's treatment team, planning team and all other interested parties to build self-esteem and social capital for each individual served.
  • Be on-call as directed by agency administration.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Graduated from an accredited college with a Master's degree in Applied Behavior Analysis Psychology, Special Education, Sociology, Guidance and counseling, Social Work, or other behavioral science program.
  • Board Certified Behavior Analyst certification.
  • At least three years of experience in the development and implementation of Behavior Support Plans, Functional Behavior Assessments and related assessments (preference assessments, reinforce assessments, etc.)
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary treatment team.
  • Ability to work a flexible full-time work week as directed by your supervisor to meet the needs of the program and individuals in our care.
  • Able to physically assist, lift, or transfer at least 50 lbs.
  • Valid unrestricted Drivers' License with a good driving record.
  • Must be at least 21 years old.
  • Must be able to read, write and verbally communicate in English and direct/respond to client's needs.
  • Proof of valid auto insurance coverage
  • The ability to attend up to five (5) days (~9am to 5pm) of paid training in Hamilton, Mercer County, NJ, prior to beginning work.
