As a Biomedical Equipment Technician II, your role will be pivotal in maintaining and enhancing patient care through managing medical equipment. Salary: $30.27 - $41.66 per hour
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Inspect, repair, maintain, and calibrate a variety of basic clinical equipment, devices, systems, and instruments under moderate supervision.
- Regular interaction with clinical health providers to identify and solve technology-based problems.
- Participate in and conduct training programs covering technical, administrative, and customer service aspects.
- Advance towards a Biomedical Equipment Technician III by gaining proficiency in sophisticated clinical devices and systems and developing ability to mentor junior technicians.
- Ensure strict compliance with the department’s Medical Equipment Management Plan (MEMP).
- Monitor and manage "Corrective" and "Scheduled" Open Work Order reports to ensure timely completion and accuracy of work requests.
- Order parts or services needed to keep equipment within manufacturer specifications.
- Coordinate and oversee third-party contractor activities as required.
Minimum Position Qualifications:
- Associate’s Degree in electronics, biomedical engineering, or a similar technical discipline.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Biomedical Equipment Technician I or similar role within a healthcare setting.
- Knowledge of maintenance, repair, and calibration of clinical equipment.
- Ability to learn fundamentals of LAN/WAN integration for team collaboration.
- Must be adaptable and patient to meet the dynamic needs of the hospital environment and patient care.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proven track record of troubleshooting and maintaining a broad range of clinical inventory devices.
- Experience leading a team or managing projects is highly desirable.
- Technical certifications relevant to biomedical equipment maintenance and repairs.
