Biomedical Equipment Technician II

We are a leading innovative healthcare company specializing in the service and asset management of movable medical equipment for healthcare systems and hospitals. We are seeking a Biomedical Equipment Technician II with a strong background in the repair and preventive maintenance of medical equipment. This position is integral to ensuring that our medical technologies function optimally to facilitate excellent patient care. The role involves hands-on technical work, including repair, maintenance, and calibration of a wide array of medical devices. Candidates should be ready to handle multiple projects and interact collaboratively with medical and clinical staff to meet their needs with high standards of service.

Salary: DOE per year

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Analyzes, troubleshoots, and repairs a variety of medical equipment using specialized electronic tests and measurement equipment.
  • Performs regular scheduled maintenance, calibrations, and modifications on medical equipment and systems following department procedures and manufacturers’ specifications.
  • Conducts quality assurance testing and calibration to ensure equipment performs up to required standards.
  • Trains and assists medical and clinical staff on the correct and safe operation of medical equipment.
  • Documents detailed records of inspections, maintenance, repair activities, and adjustments performed on all equipment.
  • Engages in the installation or assistance in the installation of new medical equipment and system modifications.
  • Orders and manages inventory for necessary repair and spare parts according to established procedures and vendor contracts.

Minimum Position Qualifications:

  • Associate Degree in Electronics, Biomedical Equipment Technology, or equivalent from military training.
  • Minimum of 2-5 years experience in biomedical equipment repair, preferably in a hospital-based or medical service setting.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, particularly Word and Excel.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of networking technology related to medical equipment systems.
  • Valid US driver's license with a good driving record.
  • Ability to work legally in the U.S. without visa sponsorship.
  • Must be able to pass a complete background check and drug screening.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Extensive experience with a broad range of medical equipment, including diagnostic and therapeutic devices.
  • Experience with advanced technical equipment troubleshooting and resolution.
  • Familiarity with the latest medical technology trends and a keen interest in staying updated with technological advancements.

Skills:

  • Technical aptitude in understanding the operation of complex electronic, electromechanical, and pneumatic devices.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks/projects efficiently.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with colleagues and clinical staff.
