Bilingual Japanese Tax Senior

We are seeking a highly capable Tax Senior who is fluent in Japanese to join our prestigious regional CPA firm. This role focuses on delivering specialized international tax services to our Japanese clients. The position offers the flexibility of a fully remote setup, ideally suited for candidates in the PST or MST time zones. As part of our team, you will handle complex tax and accounting issues, develop and maintain client relationships, and leverage your bilingual skills to meet unique client needs and compliance requirements.

Salary: DOE per year

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare Federal and multi-state tax returns for diverse entities and individuals including C corporations, S corporations, partnerships, high-net-worth individuals, bankruptcy cases, and trusts and estates.
  • Address complex accounting and tax issues proficiently.
  • Conduct both basic and complex tax research to support client needs and compliance.
  • Engage in the development and maintenance of client relationships, ensuring high satisfaction and retention.
  • Identify opportunities for tax planning and consulting to offer clients strategic benefits.
  • Collaborate closely with partners on challenging engagements, ensuring the delivery of top-tier service.

Minimum Position Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Accounting, Tax, or Business Administration.
  • At least 2 years of tax experience, preferably in a public accounting firm.
  • Progress towards obtaining CPA license, if not already licensed.
  • Strong attention to detail with exceptional communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
  • A self-directed individual with an entrepreneurial work ethic and the ability to handle complex issues.
  • Proficiency in Japanese language is required; both written and verbal skills are essential.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship now or in the future.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CPA license strongly preferred.
  • Prior experience in an environment focused on Japanese clients or international tax engagements.
  • Ability to leverage technology and software effectively in tax preparation and research.
