Bilingual Japanese Tax Senior

We are a top regional CPA firm specializing in providing tailored international tax services to our Japanese clients. This senior tax position offers the flexibility to work fully remotely, ideally suited for candidates in the PST or MST time zones. You will engage directly with complex tax issues and client relationships in a professional, growth-oriented environment. With a focus on C corporations, S corporations, partnerships, and high-net-worth individuals, this role demands a proactive approach to tax planning and consulting, backed by robust analytical skills and attention to detail.

Salary: DOE per year

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare Federal and multi-state tax returns for a variety of entities and individuals.
  • Handle complex accounting and tax issues with precision and expertise.
  • Conduct both basic and advanced tax research to support client needs and firm objectives.
  • Develop and maintain robust client relationships, ensuring high levels of satisfaction and retention.
  • Identify opportunities for tax planning and consulting, offering innovative solutions to clients.
  • Collaborate directly with partners and team members on challenging engagement in a professional setting.

Minimum Position Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Accounting, Tax, or Business Administration.
  • At least 2 years of tax experience, preferably in a public accounting firm.
  • Japanese language fluency is essential.
  • Attention to detail with strong analytical skills to tackle complex tax and accounting issues.
  • Ability to meet strict deadlines and work under pressure.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States permanently without the need for sponsorship.
  • CPA license or actively working towards obtaining a CPA license.

  • Experience in international tax services is highly favorable.
  • Proven track record of managing client relationships and developing new business opportunities.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, capable of presenting tax concepts and planning in a clear manner.

  • Advanced competency in navigating tax software and related technologies.

Skills:

  • Excellent command of Japanese and English, both spoken and written.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, especially in Excel for financial analysis and modeling.

  • Advanced researching skills to handle diverse tax issues.
  • Demonstrable problem-solving skills, with a keen ability to make sound decisions based on a mixture of analysis, wisdom, and experience.
