We are excited to offer a unique opportunity for a Bilingual Japanese International Tax Senior at our highly profitable and well-established regional CPA firm. This role caters specifically to our Japanese clients and offers the flexibility of a fully remote setup. Ideal for candidates residing in the PST or MST time zones, this position will allow you to handle complex tax issues and develop critical client relationships while working within a supportive team environment that fosters professional growth and expertise in international taxation.
Salary: DOE per year
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare Federal and multi-state tax returns for C corporations, S corporations, partnerships, high-net-worth individuals, bankruptcy entities, and trusts and estates.
- Address and resolve complex accounting and tax issues as they arise.
- Engage in both basic and advanced tax research to support client needs.
- Focus on developing and maintaining strong relationships with clients.
- Proactively identify opportunities for tax planning and consulting to enhance client service.
- Work collaboratively and effectively within a team setting to complete projects and meet deadlines.
Minimum Position Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Accounting, Tax, or Business Administration.
- At least 2 years of tax experience, preferably within a public accounting firm.
- Currently holding or actively pursuing a CPA license.
- Demonstrated ability to manage detailed work with a high level of accuracy.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills required.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship now or in the future.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Japanese corporate and individual tax regulations and practices.
- Advanced knowledge and proficiency in US Federal and state tax laws.
- Prior experience in a client-facing role within a tax consultancy environment.
- Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to manage multiple projects.
- Strong entrepreneurial spirit and self-motivation to deliver results under minimal supervision.
Skills:
- Fluent in Japanese and English with strong verbal and written communication abilities.
- Solid comprehension of complex tax and accounting issues.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills to tackle client-specific challenges.
- Excellent time management skills, with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Advanced competency in technical skills, including use of tax preparation and research software.
