Job Description

  • Performs assigned patient care and observation duties under the direction of a licensed provider, RN, or LPN
  • Performs routine and more complex medical assistant clinical duties to include, but not limited to obtaining vital signs, retrieving patient medical history, administering a limited profile of medications/vaccines, performing simple back office diagnostic tests, collecting specimens, drawing blood, sterilizing and cleaning equipment, performing EKG, Spirometry test, and maintaining examination rooms in an outpatient care setting
  • Promotes a supportive and healing environment to enhance customer satisfaction
  • Assists in emergency situations as directed by a licensed provider, RN, or LPN
  • Maintains patients' charts and records
  • Ensures patient has proper identification and documentation
  • Follows HIPPA Guidelines and confidentiality
  • Verify orders and store unit supplies
  • May also be responsible for some administrative duties in support of patient and practice operations such as Faxing, obtaining medical records, and phone calls.
