Position: Bilingual Billing Clerk
Location: Ottawa, Ontario
Salary: Starting at $50,000, commensurate with experience

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Bilingual Billing Clerk to join a busy office environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the billing and accounts receivable functions, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and professionalism in all financial communications. This role requires strong attention to detail, the ability to manage multiple priorities, and a high level of discretion.

Key Responsibilities:

Billing & Invoicing

  • Prepare draft invoices for review and finalize invoices with a high degree of accuracy
  • Distribute invoices to clients in a professional and timely manner
  • Review billing entries to ensure completeness and compliance with internal standards

Accounts Receivable Support

  • Track and follow up on outstanding invoices
  • Assist with collections and client communications regarding billing inquiries
  • Support month-end billing and accounts receivable processes

Payment Processing

  • Receive and process client payments (cheque, credit card, electronic transfers)
  • Apply payments accurately within the system and maintain up-to-date records
  • Reconcile discrepancies and escalate issues as needed

Administrative & Financial Support

  • Maintain accurate billing records and documentation
  • Assist with reporting and data entry related to billing and finance
  • Collaborate with internal teams to resolve billing issues and improve processes

Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary diploma or degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
  • Minimum 2 years of billing or accounting support experience; law firm experience is an asset
  • Bilingual in English and French (written and verbal)
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial data handling
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel); experience with billing software is an asset
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
