Behavior Health Specialist
Job Description
Linke Resources is recruiting for a Behavior Health Specialist (MSW, LSW, or LAC), or a Pennsylvania Behavior Specialist License for a leading provider of services to people living with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This position would have some travel throughout Northumberland Country, Pennsylvania.
Responsibilities:
- Functions with autonomy, diplomacy and professionalism.
- Observe and assess individuals’ behavior.
- Conduct a Functional Behavioral Analysis/Assessment (FBA) of individuals’ behavior to develop meaningful and effective treatment plans.
- Develop and implement treatment plans to address behavioral issues.
- Develop and implement restrictive procedure plans to address specific problematic behaviors. Present restrictive procedure plans to the Shared Support Human Rights Committee for review and approval.
- Support individuals throughout the treatment process.
- Communicate with individual’s, employees, life sharing providers and families to implement treatment plans. Train employees and life sharing providers on implementation of the plans.
- Monitor and record treatment progress using an electronic health record.
- Conduct ongoing assessments to determine individuals’ improvements.
- Maintain individual records and treatment reports. Prepare summaries a minimum of every 6 months for review and approval of the Human Rights Team for individuals with restrictive procedure plans.
- Participate in monthly Circle Team meetings.
- Participate on Shared Support committees as requested by Program leadership.
- Collaborate with other healthcare specialists and support organizations.
- Complete annual training hours as required by the PA DHS/ODP and to maintain necessary licenses.
Qualifications for the Position:
- LSW or LAC licensed in the State of Pennsylvania or Pennsylvania Licensed Behavior Specialist (LBS)
- Masters Degree or higher in Psychology, Special Education, Counseling, Social Work, Education, ABA, or Gerontology
- Knowledge and experience with IDD and/or behavioral health systems
- Ability to handle emotional intense situations
- Ability to apply behavioral principals
- Excellent stress management skills
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Excellent writing and record keeping skills
- Valid driver’s license, driver registration, functional vehicle
