This growing architecture and engineering firm is seeking a General Ledger Accountant who has the following:
- 3-10 years of experience in project accounting, preferably in architecture, engineering, or construction industries
- Solid understanding of general ledger accounting, financial reporting, and reconciliations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
- Experience with Sage 50, QuickBooks, or Deltek is highly preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is a plus, but not required. Industry experience is most critical
- Prepare, process, and reconcile bi-weekly payroll and associated journal entries.
- Perform monthly bank reconciliations and investigate variances or discrepancies.
- Reconcile and monitor credit card transactions and ensure accurate coding.
- Process accounts payable, ensuring timely and accurate vendor payments.
- Maintain the integrity of the general ledger by ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded and classified.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Collaborate with project managers and other internal teams to ensure financial data integrity.
