JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Impulse, Inc. has an immediate opening for a Band Saw Operator in Davisburg, MI. Our client is an automation equipment manufacturer and integrator. The Band Saw Operator is responsible for cutting aluminum extrusion and/or metal components to precise specifications in support of conveyor system fabrication and assembly.

Responsibilities of a Band saw operator includes:

• Set up and operate horizontal/vertical band saws to cut aluminum or metal stock
• Read and interpret blueprints, cut sheets, or work orders
• Measure materials using tape measures, calipers, or gauges
• Adjust blade speed, feed rate, and angles for accurate cuts
• Inspect finished parts to ensure they meet tolerances
• Load/unload raw material (often long extrusion pieces)
• Stage cut parts for downstream assembly or machining
• Perform routine maintenance (blade changes, cleaning, lubrication)
• Keep work area clean and organized (5S mindset)
• Follow all safety procedures and PPE requirements

Job Requirements of a Band Saw Operator:

• Ability to read a tape measure
• Blueprint reading
• Experience with band saws or similar cutting equipment preferred
• Mechanical aptitude
• Attention to detail and consistency
• Ability to lift 40–70 lbs and stand for long periods
• Comfortable in a manufacturing environment
