Business Development Manager – K–12 Education

Overview
Our client is a well-established provider of secure identification and credentialing solutions, trusted by institutions where safety, reliability, and accountability matter most. As demand grows across the education sector, they are expanding their commercial team and seeking a Business Development Manager to lead growth within the K–12 market.
This role is ideal for a consultative sales professional who understands how public and private school systems operate and can translate complex solutions into clear, compelling value for educational stakeholders.
What You’ll Do

Own and grow new business opportunities across the K–12 education segment, from individual school districts to larger state or regional systems

Build and manage a strong pipeline through outbound prospecting, inbound leads, and strategic networking

Engage with superintendents, administrators, IT leaders, and security decision-makers to understand needs and position tailored solutions

Lead the full sales cycle, including discovery, product demonstrations, proposal development, and contract negotiation

Partner closely with internal teams to ensure smooth handoffs from sale to implementation and long-term customer success

Track activity and performance using CRM tools, while continuously refining go-to-market strategies for the education vertical

Stay current on K–12 funding cycles, compliance considerations, and market trends that influence buying decisions
What You’ll Need

Proven experience in B2B business development or sales, with a strong preference for experience selling into K–12 education

Demonstrated success navigating complex, consultative sales cycles

Comfort engaging with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Strong communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills

A self-directed, results-oriented mindset with the ability to work independently in a remote or distributed environment

Familiarity with security, identity management, SaaS, or technology-enabled services is a plus
