Job Description
Our client is an American-based nanobubble technology company with a mission to unlock the full potential of nanobubbles to enhance and protect water, food, and natural resources.
Due to company growth, our client is seeking a Business Development Manager (BDM) for the US surface water market for the USA, based on the east coast. The BDM will report directly to the SW Program Leader.
The ideal candidate for this position is an energetic, curious, experienced, and self-motivated business developer to drive the company’s sales efforts in the surface water industry (primarily stormwater basins, lakes, reservoirs, and ponds). This position will work closely with every member of the executive management. You will have a voice, be expected to be self-sufficient, and be responsible for delivering work that you are proud of by solving our customers’ most challenging problems.

- Has a construction/infrastructure background selling into large-scale water projects.
- Able to effectively communicate with lobbyists, stakeholders, and political figures.
- Able to work with channel partners and distributors.
- Must be prepared to travel 50% of the time.
- Want to earn an annual seven-figure salary potentially.
Essential Functions of this position include:
- Executing the company’s surface water commercial strategy to expand sales of the company’s nanobubble generator systems treating large waterbodies while managing a network of channel partners to penetrate the <10-acre lake and pond market.
- Sourcing and qualifying new opportunities and communicating directly with all external stakeholders including municipalities, water districts, local and state government agencies, government affairs firms, owner engineering firms, and other key influencers, and decision makers in the sales process of a large surface water waterbody.
- Developing winning proposals for projects in the sales pipeline by working closely with the company’s engineering team and key vendors / partners; and using consultative selling best practices to identify, develop, and close projects both directly with the end user and via strategic partners.
- Identifying, hiring, training, managing and occasionally terminating channel partners (lake & pond management companies) to facilitating a broader reach of the company’s products and solutions.
- Developing, meeting and exceeding annual sales and growth targets.
- Supporting and guiding the company’s application and product development teams in defining customer requirements and testing new nanobubble generator products suitable for surface water treatment.
- Acting as a thought-leader and subject matter expert for the use of nanobubble and other chemical-free solutions to treat impaired waterbodies including submitting papers and presenting at conferences.
- Working with the marketing team to leverage existing case studies and publications to develop new applications and customers and develop new case studies by providing them with quantifiable data from successful installations and projects.
- Liaising with the regional sales team and surface water program leader to ensure timely response to leads/inquiries and ensuring that our client has adequate coverage for all channel partners.

Requirements for this position include:
- Bachelor’s Degree. Post-graduate sales training would be considered as a plus.
- 10+ years’ commercial experience developing complex project; 5+ years in lake management or surface water treatment with experience interfacing with local customers and the ability to cold call regularly on other potential customers
- Knowledge of the surface water aeration and / or chemical applications (treatment) market and existing relationships with potential customers.
- Demonstrated ability to work with application/process engineering staff and understand risk management.
- Proven experience working with distributors/channel partners to grow market share/penetration of technology-driven products and solutions.
- Excellent listening and communication skills.
- Confident, direct, poised communication required working with and through others, persuading and motivating.
- Fluent in English– spoken and written.
- Willing to travel up to 50% of the time.
The salary for this position is $130-150K or commensurate with experience plus uncapped commissions, and full benefits. Anticipated earnings are seven-digits plus.
