BCBA

Location: Midland Park, New Jersey
Position Type: Full-Time

The BCBA provides direct clinical and behavioral services to individuals with developmental and behavioral needs in a Day Habilitation setting. This role focuses on assessment, individualized programming, data analysis, participant progress, and evidence-based behavioral support.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical & Behavioral Services

• Conduct Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs) and develop or update Behavior Support Plans as clinically indicated.
• Develop individualized skill-acquisition and behavior-reduction programs.
• Analyze behavioral and skill-acquisition data and make data-driven programming recommendations.
• Monitor progress toward participant goals and adjust programming as needed.
• Provide clinical support for challenging behaviors and crisis prevention.
• Ensure interventions are evidence-based, person-centered, and consistent with applicable ethical standards.

Day Habilitation Programming

• Develop programming targeting adaptive, communication, social, self-help, independent-living, and community-integration skills.
• Individualize programming based on each participant's interests, preferences, strengths, needs, and ISP goals.
• Promote independence, meaningful participant choice, and community-based experiences.

Documentation & Compliance

• Maintain accurate clinical documentation, data, progress notes, and program records.
• Ensure services and documentation align with NJ DDD, Medicaid, agency policies, and applicable behavioral-health standards.
• Participate in clinical record reviews, audits, and regulatory reviews as needed.
• Document and report incidents in accordance with agency and NJ DDD requirements.

Participant & Team Collaboration

• Communicate participant progress, behavioral concerns, and programming recommendations to the appropriate members of the individual's support team.
• Participate in ISP and planning meetings when appropriate.
• Collaborate with families/guardians, Support Coordinators, clinicians, residential providers, and Day Habilitation staff to support consistent implementation of services.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or higher in Applied Behavior Analysis, Psychology, Special Education, Behavioral Health, or a related field.
• Current BCBA certification required.
• Experience working with individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities and behavioral needs.
• Experience conducting FBAs and developing behavior support and skill-acquisition programming.
• Strong understanding of behavioral data collection, analysis, person-centered planning, and evidence-based practices.
• Knowledge of NJ DDD and Medicaid requirements preferred.
• Strong communication, organization, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced Day Habilitation environment.
