Aviation Project Manager
Aviation Project Manager
Kansas City, Missouri
Crawford Murphy & Tilly (CMT) is looking for a project manager to join the aviation team in their well-established Kansas City office. This opportunity will open doors for a career-minded engineer with a background in airport project management to work on diverse projects and build their leadership experience in the industry as well as within the company as the team continues its strategic growth.
In this role, the engineer will serve as a project manager and client manager for civil airport projects in the region. This professional will assist with business development and be responsible for projects from proposal through design and construction. The firm excels at providing the support needed to ensure professional success for its employees. This role includes mentoring and supervising junior engineers while overseeing and performing the design process, and coordinating with some of the most knowledgeable established professionals in the industry when needed.
The projects for this position focus on providing traditional airfield services including new and replacement airfield pavements, grading and drainage, airfield lighting and signage and navigational aids. Local experience is not required, and relocation assistance will be provided.
CMT has been an industry leader in aviation for more than 75 years and continues to set industry standards for both innovation and best practices. CMT serves large and small commercial and military airports with a full range of engineering and planning services and is regularly recognized for innovation in its execution of projects. For example, a taxiway reconstruction project the team designed at a Midwest commercial airport allowed CMT’s client to keep the taxiway operational during the reconstruction while finishing on-time and on-budget. The innovative drainage structure that was part of that project will extend the life of the pavement and was subsequently accepted by the FAA as a new standard.
CMT is a privately held mid-size engineering firm with employee stockholders. CMT benefits include a generous overtime, comp time, and PTO policy; a 401k and profit-sharing program; and an employee-focused culture that puts a strong emphasis on employees’ career development.
