Aviation Insurance Underwriter - Dallas, TX

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate new and renewal aircraft insurance applications to determine risk acceptability, coverage terms, and pricing.
  • Collaborate with brokers and clients to gather comprehensive risk information and enhance understanding of insurance needs and solutions.
  • Develop and maintain close relationships with industry agents, contributing to business growth and client retention.
  • Conduct in-field assessments and attend industry events to stay current with aviation market trends and network with industry professionals.
  • Use expertise in aviation and insurance to design and manage custom insurance proposals and policies.
  • Continually update and improve knowledge of regulatory changes, industry trends, and technical advancements in aviation and insurance.

Minimum Position Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in property-casualty insurance, aviation, business, or related field.
  • Proven experience in aviation insurance underwriting or a closely related field.
  • Strong analytical skills to evaluate and interpret complex risk scenarios.
  • High motivation and commitment to advancing within the industry.
  • Ability to travel regularly and establish solid broker and client relationships.
  • Familiarity with industry-specific software and tools.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • FAA pilot certification or significant flying experience.
  • Advanced degree in a relevant field.
  • Previous experience in a leadership or managerial role within the sector.
