Mead & Hunt is looking for a civil design engineer with experience working on airport projects to provide technical oversight and guidance to junior engineers. The engineer will serve in a design management capacity that will oversee design processes on projects from start to finish.
This individual will play a major role in supporting both small and large airport design projects and play an internal role in shaping many of the airports in the region for decades to come. Active contracts with the majority of the airports in Southern California provide a steady stream of exciting and challenging projects, with additional opportunities like the reconstruction of a military airfield base on Peleliu in the Pacific rounding out a robust and varied portfolio.
The regional aviation engineering team is a tight-knit group that encourages employees to have work-life balance and take personal time. Minimal travel will be required for this position as most of the projects will be regional to where the person is located, usually within a day trip. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to work on airfield projects closer to home. The individual can work from Mead & Hunt’s well-established offices in San Diego, California or Scottsdale, Arizona. Hybrid and flexible schedules are available for this position. Salary Range: $135,000 - $190,000 /year – Actual compensation may vary due to other factors such as: experience, skill set and location.

Requirements:
• BS in Civil Engineering or related engineering discipline
• Licensed Professional Engineer or ability to become licensed within 6 months
• 7+ years of experience
• Prior experience working on civil airport design projects
• Prior project management and business development experience preferred.
