Automotive Service Manager needed for growing domestic dealership in Nassau County, NY. This is a great opportunity for an organized, process-driven, Service Manager who leads by example and isn't afraid to roll-up their sleeves. This is a busy department but little details are slipping through the cracks and the dealer needs a Service Manager who can handle both the administrative side of being a Service Manager as well as the day-to-day operations of leading their team and working with customers. The dealership Service Manager is responsible for overseeing the service department of the dealership, ensuring that all repairs and maintenance are completed efficiently and to the satisfaction of customers. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of leading new car dealership Service Departments and ensuring that customer retention stays high. Moreover, the dealer is looking for an energetic Service Manager that actively strives to grow their department and do better than the day before. It is important that this person is a good trainer and motivator of their team so that the team and department can reach new levels. Experience on CDK is a big plus.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage the service team, including hiring, training, and supervising technicians and other service staff
  • Oversee the scheduling of repairs and maintenance with customers and technicians
  • Ensure ROs are completed and closed out in a timely and accurate fashion
  • Train and develop Service Advisors—make sure they’re selling the right work and explaining it properly to customers.
  • Keep the loaner fleet organized, accounted for, and scheduled properly.
  • Maintain inventory levels and order parts as needed
  • Handle customer service inquiries and address any concerns or complaints
  • Manage the budget for the service department and analyze financial data to identify areas for improvement
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve efficiency and customer satisfaction within the service department
  • Stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices, and implement new technologies and processes as needed
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation related to repairs, maintenance, and customer interactions
  • Participate in team meetings and collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth operation of the dealership
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • A proven track record as a dealership Service Manager
  • Strong leadership and management skills
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Strong understanding of the automotive repair and maintenance processes
  • Ability to analyze financial data and develop budget plans
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency with computer programs and software, including inventory management systems
Compensation:
  • Compensation range will be in the $150,000 - $200,000 range based on experience and performance.
